Launch! is a two-day DesCan Vancouver initiative aiming to help new and budding designers launch toward a successful design career. This event provides an unparalleled opportunity for attendees to learn new skills, connect with peers, receive guidance in navigating their career paths and inspire creative thinking.
The two-day event includes a tour of local design studios plus a tour of a local print shop, followed by an evening networking social, projects review and educators roundtable.
STUDIO TOURS
Friday, November 18, 2022 – 1:00 pm to 5:30 pm
(Registration opens at 12:30 pm)
Please be there no later than 12:40 pm to sign in, the tour starts promptly at 1 pm) — Transportation will be provided from the first studio. The final stop is at Johnny Fox at 1601 Main Street for the Network Social.
Studio tours: (We’ll meet at 12:30 pm, tours start at 1-5:30 pm)

PROJECTS + PORTFOLIO REVIEWS
Saturday, November 19, 2022 – 9:30 am to 12:30 pm
(Registration opens at 9 am)
DesCan’s Launch! project and/or portfolio review is open to students and recent graduates aspiring to enter into a career in communication design and to students currently enrolled in a design program. You will get the opportunity to show your portfolio or work in progress to several industry professionals to obtain insightful and constructive advice about your work. This is a great opportunity to practice ‘real-world’ interview skills and receive honest feedback in a non-competitive environment. This is also a great opportunity to network with the who’s who in the Vancouver design community.
