Amanda Parker Grande-Digue, New Brunswick

Amanda Parker runs AP Creative, a remote graphic design and branding studio. Before starting her business, Amanda spent 20 years at IG Wealth Management, working in various roles such as graphic designer, photographer, art director, project manager, and design manager. Being a creative in a sea of business people, Amanda needed to find a way to build clout in the organization and be seen as an expert. Becoming a GDC (DesCan) member in 2011 and getting her CDP Certification in 2012 was a meaningful way to showcase her design expertise and help with her career advancement. From 2015 to 2020, Amanda worked as the Events Chair for the Manitoba Chapter. In 2020, Amanda made a significant life change, relocating from Winnipeg, Manitoba, to rural New Brunswick with her husband and twin daughters. She is grateful for the opportunity to live and work in the unceded and traditional lands of the Mi’kma’ki and Wabanaki peoples. After her move, Amanda began working with the Atlantic Chapter as the Event Chair, and since 2022, Amanda has been serving as the President of the Halifax/Monton Chapter. In 2023, Amanda worked with a group of dedicated DesCan volunteers to build a strategic plan for the future. This will help direct the organization as she moves into her new role as the National President.
