We are looking for an experienced user-experience and user-interface designer with a desire to focus on digital product design and design system ownership in the future to join our Digital Innovations Team within our Winnipeg head office located at 140 Otter Street.

Long Description

As Digital Product Designer II, you’ll be responsible for delivering product concept documentation (high-level concepts, and detailed product requirement documents), user-experience designs, product user-interface mock-ups and development asset exports across multiple projects simultaneously. You’ll also have a key interest in designing user/customer-centric experiences as a whole and will work closely with our Director of Digital Innovations and our other Digital Product Designers to regularly challenge the boundaries of engagement through new, fun, and exciting experiences.

What You’ll Do

  • Plan and implement new designs based on shared requirements.
  • Optimize existing user interface designs.
  • Test for overall experience and communicate recommendations.
  • Communicate with stakeholders to understand their business goals and objectives via product requirements documentation.
  • Effectively defend design decisions.
  • Iterate on designs based on required changes.
  • Participate in developing technical and business requirements.
  • Combine creativity with an awareness of PBL’s design systems.
  • Create prototypes for new product ideas and test new ideas before implementing.
  • Conduct ongoing user research & recommend metrics and KPIs.
  • Stay up-to-date and have an opinion on current trends and guidelines across multiple design disciplines (digital, print, industrial).

What You’ll Bring:

  • 5+ years of experience as a UI Designer, UX Designer, or similar role.
  • Able to supply a UX and UI design portfolio (or equivalent samples of work).
  • Bachelor’s degree, diploma, or certificate in relevant field of design.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Strong grammatical and technical writing skills.
  • Ability to discuss and defend design decisions.
  • Critical thinking skills, problem solving experience and be user/customer centered.
  • Experience with Adobe Creative Cloud suite of products.
  • Experience with Sketch, Zeplin, and/or Figma (or equivalent tools).
  • Experience developing artwork for physical, web, and mobile products.
  • Knowledge of Usability Factors in Human Computer Interaction.
