Senior Graphic Designer (Full-time 3-Month Contract or Freelance – Immediate Start)

Responsibilities
• Layout and production of complex long-format documents in Adobe InDesign
• Working within an established template and style system
• Integrating charts, maps, and scientific figures into chapter layouts
• Maintaining consistent typography and formatting across multiple chapters
• Coordinating with our internal design team and project manager throughout production


Requirements
• Senior-level experience with Adobe InDesign and long-document production
• Must demonstrate previous experience designing long scientific or research-based documents
• Portfolio must include examples of multi-chapter reports, scientific publications, or large research documents
• Experience working with bilingual (English/French) publications
• Must have their own professional home office setup and Adobe Creative Cloud license
• Ability to collaborate with a distributed team using shared InDesign files / Adobe Live Sync
• Availability to work evenings and weekends when required to meet production deadlines
• Knowledge of accessibility standards and accessible document production (e.g., WCAG, accessible PDFs, structured documents)
• Must be located in the Vancouver area and available to attend occasional impromptu meetings in downtown Vancouver
• Strong attention to detail and ability to work within tight timelines

Timeline
Immediate start with work continuing through April.
